Kevin Troy Darling, Writer

Kevin Troy Darling is a senior-level writer with more than seventeen years professional experience in business communications, which breaks out into more than ten years experience in marketing communications, eight years in technical writing, and five years in instructional design. Troy also has more than five years experience as managing editor and senior writer for trade newsletters. His creative body of work includes screenplays, plays, poetry, and fiction.

Troy has equally strong background in technical and creative fields, which makes him an ideal bridge between design and development. He specializes in being able to translate executive vision into specifics that engineers and programmers can build.

In his corporate career, Troy specialized in helping start-up companies ramp up quickly. His ability to wear many hats and develop all forms of corporate communications helped companies such as Newton Excellence Organization, Interact.com, KnowledgeNet, and Mastering Computers develop a sophisticated brand identity early in their maturity.

Troy continues as a consultant to use his writing and editing skills to help clients in high-tech, start-up, and growing businesses develop their brand identity in logical phases. His graduated approach takes into account the natural and rapid transformations in message common to organizations in transition.

Additionally, Troy teaches writing workshops for business that help non-writers develop skills and techniques to communicate clearly and persuasively. Troy is an experienced trainer and curriculum developer with a delivery that blends practical content with dry humor drawn from everyday life in corporate America.

Troy informs his creative approach to business projects with more than two decades experience in the fine arts as an editor, writer, and performer.

Troy earned a BFA in Creative Writing from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas, graduating cum laude.
